Michel Morissette Jazz

An inspired composer and guitarist with fingers on fire, Michel Morissette did not mean to take the "slow boat" to anywhere but preferred to take his time honing his unique sound while learning as much as he can on the way.

Influenced by the likes of John Coltrane, John McLaughlin, and other heavyweights, he likes to improvise and compose music that swings. A Montréal jazz musician, he is the one that performed the most at the 2001 Montréal International Jazz Festival. He burned the stage three hours a night for five days in a row and the public wanted more.

He will be accompanied by four (quintet) excellent musicians: André Leroux on tenor saxophone, Yvanhoé Jolicoeur on horns, Jean Cyr on bass, and Jeff Simons on drums.

This guitarist bring freshness and excellence to the jazz standards while putting a lot of heart into his music.

A must see…
