Berth Blues Band
When amateurs mix with professional musicians...
...The making of a good show !
Anyway that's the conclusion we can come to judging from the first show, last spring, by Berth Blues band when three local amateur musicians teamed up with them.
The group, made up of Pierre Berthiaume on guitar and vocals, Jean-Guy Péloquin on guitar, Marc Gendron on bass, and Stéphane Mayrand on drums, will make their second appearance on stage at le Cabaret du Saint-Cyrille playing well known and loved songs from their repertoire of blues, rock blues, rythm'n blues, etc.
For this occasion three amateurs will join them: Pierre David and Gilles Dionne both on harmonica and singer Sébastien Dionne.
The organizer of this concept, Robert Spick, explained during a press conference that the idea of teaming local amateurs to the group came to him from his own experience when he participated at such an event. An experience he will always cherish.
The idea is to help amateurs to play with professionals. He explained that it gives them a chance to practice the disipline of producing on a live stage.
The first show was such a sucess with the public that it spurred him on to renew the experience.
The concept could eventually be repeated with new amateurs as, in the words of Mr. Spick, "there is so much talent in the region".
A guaranteed atmosphere. Not to be missed for fans of blues-rock.
